OFFICE FURNITURE REMOVAL COST

Below is what actually drives that number in this market, and — more usefully — the several situations where hiring anyone to do this is the wrong call.

These are our 2026 rates for ground-level access within Pueblo West and the immediate Pueblo metro. Every one is confirmed on site before we touch anything.

• Task chair or guest chair: $25–$40 each. Drops to $18–$22 each past ten chairs.
• Desk (laminate, 60"–72"): $60–$110 depending on whether it breaks down or has to go out whole.
• Executive desk or credenza set (solid wood): $120–$225. These are heavy — a real oak executive desk runs 250–400 lbs.
• 4-drawer vertical file cabinet: $35–$55. Lateral file, 36"–42" wide: $45–$85.
• 6x6 cubicle workstation, disassembled and hauled: $85–$150 per station. Budget 45–90 minutes of two-person labor per station; that time is the whole cost.
• Conference table, 8–12 ft: $150–$250. Add $75–$125 if the top is a single stone or thick-glass slab.
• Office safe: $250–$500 for anything 400 lbs and up. Under 200 lbs, it's usually $125.
• Bookcases, whiteboards, reception desks: $40–$150 depending on size.

Load pricing is the alternative: 1/4 trailer $250, 1/2 trailer $375, 3/4 trailer $475, full trailer $575–$650. Below about eight items, per-item pricing almost always beats load pricing. Above about fifteen, load pricing wins. We quote whichever is lower — ask for both numbers so you can check the math yourself.

The same job quoted in the Denver Tech Center commonly lands 35–60% higher, and the reason isn't greed — it's buildings.

Almost nothing in Pueblo West is a high-rise. Commercial space here clusters along US-50, Purcell Boulevard, and McCulloch, and the stock is overwhelmingly single-story suites, converted metal buildings, and home offices in the residential grid. That means ground-level access with a roll-up door or a single exterior door, no freight elevator reservation, no dock scheduling window, no building engineer standing by at $95/hour. A crew that would burn 40 minutes moving a load 14 floors down moves it 40 feet here.

The offsetting factor is disposal distance. Pueblo West sits roughly 12–18 miles from where this material ends up, and that's a 25–30 minute round trip per run. That drive is why a $150 minimum exists for a job that takes 20 minutes of actual lifting. If someone quotes you $75 for a two-item pickup in Pueblo West, ask where they're taking it.

> The cost of office furniture removal has almost nothing to do with the furniture. It's stairs, doorways, disassembly time, and drive distance. Change any one of those and the price moves 40%.

• Stairs: $25–$50 per flight, per large item. A second-floor walk-up suite with 12 pieces adds $200–$400 to an otherwise normal job.
• Disassembly: Cubicle panels, modular benching, and anything bolted to a wall or floor. Two people at 45–90 minutes a station adds up faster than clients expect.
• After-hours or weekend access: Add 15–25%. Some Pueblo West landlords require it so the neighboring suites aren't disrupted.
• Certificate of insurance requirements: Free from us, but if your property manager wants a specific additional-insured endorsement, allow 2–3 business days before your scheduled date.
• Long carries: More than 75 feet from door to truck — common in the larger US-50 commercial lots — adds $40–$100.

This is the part most junk removal pages leave out, so here it is plainly. There are at least six situations where paying us is a bad decision.

1. You have fewer than four items and access to a pickup. A desk, two chairs, and a file cabinet is one truck load. Between a rental truck for a half day, fuel, and the disposal fee, you're looking at roughly $60–$100 and about three hours of your Saturday. Our minimum is $150. You are paying about $20–$30 an hour to buy back that time. For some people that's obviously worth it. If you're a sole proprietor watching every dollar and you have a friend with a trailer, do it yourself. We'd rather tell you that than take the $150.

2. You have 30+ workstations of quality furniture less than eight years old. Call a used office furniture liquidator in Colorado Springs or Denver first. At that volume they may buy the lot or clear it at reduced cost. Below about 30 stations, most liquidators won't make the drive to Pueblo West — the trip doesn't pencil for them — and you'll get no callbacks. That's the honest threshold. Above it, a liquidator beats us on price. Below it, we're your realistic option.

3. Your furniture is leased, and especially your copier. This is the single most expensive mistake we see. Multifunction copiers are almost always on a 36–60 month lease. If we haul one that isn't yours, the lessor bills you fair market value plus remaining payments — frequently $3,000–$8,000. Same with leased modular systems. Check your paperwork before the truck shows up. We ask, but we can't verify ownership for you.

4. You expect the resale value to offset the price. It won't. Used office furniture in the Pueblo market has close to zero resale value. Pre-2010 laminate desks are worth nothing at any price. Steel file cabinets are scrap, and a 4-drawer lateral weighing 175 lbs is worth roughly $7–$14 at scrap steel rates — less than the fuel to deliver it. The exceptions are genuinely narrow: high-end ergonomic chairs (an Aeron or similar in good shape still moves for $150–$400) and solid hardwood conference furniture. If you own eight Aerons, sell them yourself on Facebook Marketplace and call us for the rest. You'll clear $1,200–$3,000 and still pay us less because the volume dropped.

5. Local nonprofits will probably decline your donation. We're happy to route usable pieces to donation and we do it at no extra charge, but set expectations: receiving organizations here consistently turn down laminate desks, damaged chairs, and anything with pen marks, tears, or a wobble. Realistically, well under half of a typical office clearout is donation-grade. Anyone promising you a big charitable write-off from a 1990s office is selling you something.

6. You still have data in the building. We are a removal company, not a data destruction vendor. We don't wipe drives, we don't shred documents, and we don't inventory what's in the file cabinets. Empty the cabinets and pull the hard drives before we arrive. If you're in a regulated field, hire a certified destruction vendor for that portion and use us for the furniture.

If you're vacating a leased suite, read your surrender clause before you budget. Two clauses regularly cost tenants more than the entire furniture bill.

"Broom clean" plus restoration. Many Pueblo-area commercial leases require you to remove wall anchors, patch, and return the space to its original condition. Pulling 40 cubicle panels leaves 80–160 anchor holes. That's a drywall repair and repaint bill, typically $400–$1,500 for a small suite, and it's not part of any furniture quote you'll receive.

Abandoned low-voltage cable. National Electrical Code requirements around accessible abandoned communications cable mean some landlords make outgoing tenants pull dead data and phone cabling from above the ceiling grid. Budget $0.75–$2.00 per foot if a low-voltage contractor does it. A 2,000 sq ft suite with 20 drops can easily be $800–$2,500. Get clarity in writing from your property manager before you hand back keys — this bill has ambushed more Pueblo West tenants than anything else on this page.

Photos beat descriptions every time. Send us four or five wide shots of the space, one photo of the exit path from the furthest item to the parking area, and a count of chairs, desks, and cabinets. Note whether the suite is ground level and whether anything is bolted down.
