That's the price and the timeline. Everything below is what those numbers actually depend on, and the specific situations where you should not hire us at all.

Our loaded round trip from Pueblo West runs 45 to 70 minutes including scale time. A single sofa weighs 90 to 150 lbs. A sleeper sofa with a steel folding frame weighs 180 to 260 lbs. A slate-bed pool table is 650 to 1,000 lbs in three slate pieces plus a frame.

So the honest breakdown:

• Single sofa, loveseat, recliner, dresser, or mattress set — $95–$185, curbside or first-floor
• Sectional (3+ pieces) or a bedroom set — $175–$285
• Full living room + bedroom, roughly 1/3 truck — $250–$450
• Slate pool table (disassembly included) — $350–$600 depending on stairs and slate count
• Safe, gun safe, or upright piano — $300–$750; these are quoted on-site only, never over the phone

Add $25–$60 for a second-story carry down an interior staircase, and $40–$75 for a basement walk-up with a turn at the landing. We tell you the adder before we touch anything.

Pueblo West is not Pueblo proper, and the logistics are genuinely different in three ways nobody writing generic "furniture removal" pages accounts for.

Lot sizes work in your favor. Most Pueblo West parcels run 0.5 to 1 acre on the McCulloch grid. Wide driveways mean we back a 15-yard dump trailer within 20 feet of your garage on most jobs. In older Pueblo neighborhoods — Bessemer, the Grove, Mesa Junction — we're often parking on a 1920s street with a 30-foot setback and carrying pieces further. That difference alone is worth 10 to 15 minutes of labor per job.

No curbside bulk pickup exists here. Pueblo West Metropolitan District does not run a municipal bulk-item program. Your trash hauler will take a bagged household bin; they will not take a sectional. This is the single most common surprise for people who moved here from Denver or Colorado Springs, both of which have city bulk programs. Pueblo West does not.

Self-haul is genuinely viable. The Pueblo County Landfill accepts residential loads. A pickup-truck load runs roughly $28 to $45 in tipping fees depending on weight, plus about $12 in fuel for the round trip from Pueblo West. That's real, and we'll come back to it, because for a lot of you it's the right answer.

This is the part that costs us bookings. It's also the part that will save some of you $150.

Skip us if you own a pickup and the piece breaks down. If you have a half-ton truck, one able-bodied friend, and a dresser or a disassembled bed frame, you're looking at roughly $40 in landfill fees and fuel and 90 minutes of your Saturday. We'd charge $95–$185 for the same outcome. Paying us for that is paying $100+ an hour to avoid a chore. Some people happily make that trade — but you should make it knowingly. Skip us if the furniture is genuinely good. A sectional in clean condition, under six years old, no pet damage, no smoke — that's a $150 to $400 Facebook Marketplace listing in the Pueblo West group, and it usually moves in 3 to 10 days if you price it at 25–30% of retail. Habitat for Humanity of Pueblo will often take solid-wood furniture in good shape and will sometimes pick up, at no cost, if it meets their standards. Calling us first is throwing away money. Call us when Marketplace has gone quiet for two weeks or the buyer no-showed twice.

Skip us if you're waiting on an insurance or estate determination. We've had families call after a flood or a death, and we've had to say: don't do this yet. Once it's on the truck, it's gone. If an adjuster hasn't documented the loss or an estate hasn't been settled among siblings, wait. A hauled-away heirloom is not recoverable, and we won't be the reason a family fights. Skip us for one small item. A single nightstand, a kitchen chair, a folding table. Skip us if you need it moved, not removed. We haul to the landfill, donation, or recycling. We are not a moving company, we do not carry moving-company cargo insurance, and we won't take your sectional to your daughter's place across town. Hire a mover.

Real limitations, named plainly:

• The piece doesn't fit and never did. Sectionals assembled inside a finished basement, or brought in before a wall went up, sometimes cannot come out intact. Our options are cutting the frame apart on site — which we will do, with your written OK — or leaving it. If you want it out whole and it won't go, we can't fix physics.
• Weather stops us. A wet spring in Pueblo West turns unpaved driveways and the caliche shoulders on the outer roads into something a loaded trailer will sink into. We'd rather reschedule than leave ruts in your yard or a truck in your ditch. Expect 1 to 3 weather reschedules a year on outlying properties.

• "Donated" is not always true. Plenty of haulers promise donation. • Stairs and turns — a straight run is fine; a 90-degree landing with a low ceiling adds real time
• Weight you didn't mention — a "dresser" that's a 1940s solid-oak highboy, or a "table" with a granite top
• Disassembly — pool tables, Murphy beds, wall-anchored built-ins, and bunk beds need tools and 30–60 extra minutes
• Access — gated communities, narrow alley approaches, or a car in the driveway that nobody can move
• Hidden volume — "just the couch" that turns out to be the couch plus everything stacked behind it

Send two photos when you call, one of the piece and one of the exit path. It takes 30 seconds and it's the difference between a firm quote and an estimate.

• Call or text with photos. Firm quote in under an hour during business hours.
• We confirm a 2-hour arrival window, not a vague "sometime Thursday."
• On arrival, we walk it with you and confirm the price before we lift anything. If the number changed, you hear it before work starts, and you can say no and owe nothing.
• Load, sweep the area, out. Typical single-item job: 20–45 minutes on site.
• Payment on completion — card, cash, or check. No deposit, no upfront fee.
