Most people typing "hot tub movers" mean one of two jobs, and they cost differently because the risk is different.

Removal means we cut it up or haul it out whole and you never see it again. Nobody cares if the shell cracks. That's why it's cheaper — we can drop the acrylic on the driveway and reduce it to four pieces with a reciprocating saw in 45 to 90 minutes.

Relocation means the tub has to arrive intact, level, and functional. That's a different insurance conversation. A 7-foot shell has a fiberglass-backed acrylic body that flexes; set it down wrong on a Pueblo West gravel drive and you've got a hairline crack that leaks 2 gallons a day and doesn't show up until it's filled. Relocation crews carry that liability, and it's priced in.

Don't pay to move a tub older than 12 years. A 2013 shell with original jets, a tired pump, and unknown plumbing history is not worth $600 of relocation plus the $400–$900 you'll spend on a new pump, heater, or cover in the first two years. Above about 12 years, relocation is throwing good money after a depreciating asset. Sell it cheap or scrap it.

Don't hire anyone if the tub still works and is under 8 years old. A functional 2019 tub has $500 to $2,500 of resale value.
