GARAGE CLEANING NEAR ME: 24-72 HRS

Most junk removal sites answer the availability question with "call now!" and no numbers. Here is the actual shape of a week in Pueblo West.

• Monday and Tuesday mornings are the softest. We hold two crews and typically fill 60–70% of those slots, so same-day is realistic.
• Wednesday and Thursday fill with commercial and rental-turnover work. Same-day drops to maybe one job in five.
• Fridays are the tightest weekday — movers close on Fridays, and cleanouts pile onto them.
• Saturdays are booked 7 to 10 days out from March through June, and 3 to 5 days out in January and February.
• Last three days of the month are the single worst window all year for availability. Lease-ends and closings collide. If your date is flexible, avoid the 28th through the 31st.

We run a 2-hour arrival window, not a "sometime today." The reason is the drive: a loaded trailer from most Pueblo West addresses to the disposal site and back is 35 to 45 minutes of round trip, and a garage that fills the truck means a mid-job dump run that no dispatcher can predict to the minute. If someone promises you an exact time to the minute for a garage cleanout, they are guessing.

Pricing is by volume, not by hour, and our truck holds about 15 cubic yards — roughly six pickup-bed loads.

• Minimum charge: $175. That covers a single-item grab or a small corner pile. Below that we lose money on fuel and dump fees.
• Quarter load: $250–$350. Think one wall of a garage, some boxes, a bike, a busted lawn chair set.
• Half load: $400–$550. The most common Pueblo West garage job.
• Full load: $650–$900. A packed two-car with shelving, an old workbench, and years of "I'll deal with it later."
• Overweight surcharge: we add $45 to $85 when a load runs heavy on concrete chunks, roofing tear-off, or dirt, because the transfer station charges us by the ton, not by the yard.

Add-ons worth knowing: an old chest freezer or fridge is $45–$75 extra because refrigerant units get handled separately. This is the section most companies leave out. Read it before you call.

You have a truck, a free Saturday, and under a pickup bed of junk. The Pueblo County disposal site charges a modest per-load minimum for household waste — call ahead for the current rate, since it changes. Even at the high end, you are out maybe $30 to $50 plus fuel. Our minimum is $175. Hiring us for that is paying about $130 for two hours of your own time back. That is a fine trade for some people and a bad one for others. You know which you are.

You are cleaning out and also renovating. If you are pulling drywall, framing, and flooring over three weekends, a 20-yard roll-off dumpster at roughly $375–$500 for a 7-day rental beats calling us four separate times at $400 a pop. Dumpsters win on multi-day, self-paced projects. We win on one-day, hands-off, "I don't want to touch it" projects. Also check whether your street or the Pueblo West Metro District covenants restrict a container sitting in a driveway for a week — that catches people.

You want us to sort, organize, and set up shelving. We are a removal crew, not professional organizers. We haul what you point at. If your real goal is a functional garage with labeled bins and a workbench that works, hire an organizer for $60–$90 an hour and use us only for the discard pile at the end. Calling us to "help decide" turns a 3-hour job into a 6-hour one and doubles your bill.

You are hoping we'll resell your stuff and cut you a check. We don't. Anything genuinely valuable — a running snowblower, a decent table saw, quality tools — is worth more to you on Facebook Marketplace than in our trailer. Sell the top 5 items first. On a typical Pueblo West garage, that is often $200 to $600 you keep, and it lightens the load enough to drop you from a full to a half load.

The garage is a symptom, not the problem. If the garage is packed because the house is packed, a garage-only cleanout gets refilled within a year. You need it done in the next 3 hours on a Friday in May. Sometimes availability just isn't there. We will tell you no rather than show up at 6 p.m. with one guy and a half-empty trailer.

• The scope doubles on arrival. Photos over text show one wall. We arrive and the attic above the garage is full too. Expect a re-quote on site — we won't start and then surprise you at the end, but the price will change.
• Weather kills the window. Pueblo West wind is not a rumor. Sustained gusts make an open trailer of loose insulation, cardboard, or foam genuinely unsafe on US-50. We reschedule, usually to the next morning.
• Nobody's home and nothing's decided. "Take whatever's in the left bay" works. "I'll be at work, figure it out" does not. Undecided items get left, and you call us again.
• Hidden weight. A garage that looks like boxes but is actually 40 boxes of books, tile, or old paint cans will price like a full load at half the visible volume.
• Access. Detached garages on the bigger Pueblo West lots sometimes sit 60–100 feet back with a soft dirt approach. If we can't get a trailer within about 40 feet, add 30 to 60 minutes of carry time.

Not everything is haulable, and knowing this ahead of time saves you a wasted appointment:

• Paint, solvents, pesticides, motor oil — household hazardous waste. Pueblo County runs periodic collection events; check current dates before you plan around one.
• Tires — most disposal sites charge per tire and many haulers, us included, either decline them or add a per-tire fee.
• Propane tanks, ammunition, and pressurized cylinders — hard no, every time.
• Anything suspected to contain asbestos — old floor tile, certain pipe wrap, some siding. That requires a licensed abatement contractor, not a junk crew. Guessing wrong here is a five-figure mistake.

Availability is partly luck and partly how you ask. What moves you up the list:

1. Text photos, not descriptions. Three wide shots of the garage with the door open beats a paragraph. We quote faster and more accurately, which means we can slot you into a gap the same day. 2. Give a window, not a time. "Any morning this week" gets served days before "Thursday at 1 p.m." 3. Pre-stage the obvious. Anything you already know is going — drag it to the apron. A pre-staged half load can drop from 3 hours to 90 minutes, which sometimes turns a "no" into a "we can squeeze you in at 2." 4. Book off-peak. The first two weeks of a month, October through February, are our lightest stretch of the year. Same-day is common then. 5. Ask about combining. If a neighbor on your street also needs a haul, we can do both on one trip and often knock $50–$100 off each.

Crew arrives inside the window, walks the garage with you, confirms the price before touching anything, and loads. Two people, 2 to 4 hours for a typical two-car. We sweep the floor. Metal goes to a scrap yard rather than the landfill — on a garage job that is usually 10–20% of the load by weight, and it is why we can hold pricing where we do. Payment on completion.
