GARAGE CLEAN OUT COST NEAR ME

Nearly every junk removal company in Pueblo County prices by trailer or truck space. Ours is a dump trailer, and we quote in fractions:

• 1/8 load (~2 cubic yards) — $149–$199. A workbench, some boxes, a bike, a few bags.
• 1/4 load (~4 cu yd) — $225–$300. One bay's worth of clutter, or a small shed's contents.
• 1/2 load (~8 cu yd) — $350–$475. The most common Pueblo West garage job.
• 3/4 load (~12 cu yd) — $475–$625.
• Full load (~16 cu yd) — $625–$850. A genuinely full two-car garage, floor to rafters.

That price includes labor, loading, sweeping, driving, and the tipping fee at the landfill. You don't lift anything and you don't pay separately for the dump run.

Two things people misjudge constantly. First, loose clutter takes up 2–3x the volume you think — an unbroken-down cardboard pile that looks like "half a pickup" is often a third of a trailer. Second, weight matters past a point. Volume pricing assumes household density (roughly 150–250 lbs per cubic yard). A half-trailer of broken sidewalk isn't $400, it's a different job on a different trailer.

Local factors that actually move the number here, not generic ones:

• Lot size and drive distance. Pueblo West lots run half an acre to 5+ acres, and a detached garage 200 feet off the driveway means every item is carried, not wheeled. That can add 20–40% in labor time. If we can back the trailer to the door, you're on the low end of the range.
• Where you are in the district. Jobs off Purcell, McCulloch, Joe Martinez, and Industrial are quick for us. Out past the golf course toward the reservoir or up the north-end acreage roads adds 15–25 minutes each way, which we absorb on larger jobs and reflect on tiny ones.

Two conditions here wreck stored goods faster than in Denver or the Front Range suburbs, and they change the math on "I'll sell it instead."

Unconditioned garages in Pueblo West routinely hit 125–140°F on a July afternoon under a black roof at 4,700 feet elevation, with UV load noticeably higher than at sea level. Latex paint stored through three summers is usually dead. Plastic totes go brittle and crack when lifted. Foam in stored patio cushions powders. Adhesives on cheap furniture let go.

Call ahead to confirm current rates and hours, since they change. If you're physically able and the load is light, you're paying us $225+ to save yourself about three hours. That's a defensible trade if your time is worth $75/hr or your back is bad. It's a bad trade if it isn't.

You haven't decided what to keep. Our crew cannot make keep/toss decisions for you. If you point at a garage and say "figure it out," either we stop every 90 seconds to ask, or something you wanted goes in the trailer. Jobs where the homeowner hasn't pre-sorted run 30–50% longer and generate almost all of our regret calls. Sort first — even a rough "this wall stays" line on the floor works. If sorting is the actual obstacle, hire an organizer, not a hauler.

You need multiple days and repeated access. A 10–20 yard roll-off dumpster rented for a week runs about $350–$550 in this area and lets you load at your own pace over a long weekend. For a slow whole-house purge, that beats hiring labor twice. We're better when you want it gone in one visit and you don't want a container sitting on your driveway.

Your items are genuinely valuable. Working tools, cast iron, a running snowblower, real wood furniture, and older Craftsman hand tools sell locally. If you have $800+ of sellable goods and the patience for a month of Marketplace messages, sell first, then call us for the remainder. Note the flip side: a $400 half-load quote does not drop to $200 because you removed the valuable 10% — volume barely changed.

The load is one heavy item. A single hot tub, one shed, or a pool deck isn't a garage cleanout and shouldn't be priced like one. You want your stuff "donated, not dumped," guaranteed. We take usable goods to local donation centers when they'll accept them, but thrift stores here reject stained upholstery, non-working electronics, cribs, most mattresses, and anything with visible mouse evidence. Realistically 50–70% of a garage load goes to the landfill no matter who you hire. Any company promising near-total diversion on a dusty Pueblo West garage is selling you a story.
