The word "discount" in this business is usually marketing. In Pueblo West it can be literal, because our costs are lumpy and predictable, and you can position yourself on the cheap side of them.

Every load we haul carries three real costs: drive time (Pueblo West to the disposal site is roughly a 25–40 minute round trip depending on where you sit off McCulloch or Purcell), tipping fees (billed by the ton, not by how pretty the load looks), and labor (two people, typically 30–90 minutes on a residential job). So the levers that actually move your price:

• Trailer share. If we're already running a load from a neighborhood job within 2–3 miles of you, adding your pile costs us maybe 15 extra minutes. That's where a $225 quarter-load becomes a $170 quarter-load.
• Weight class. A full trailer of couches and cardboard might weigh 1,100 lbs. The same trailer of broken concrete weighs 8,000+ lbs and costs us 6–7× the tipping fee. • Access. Pile at the curb or the end of the driveway: standard rate. Pile at the back of a 5-acre lot behind a locked gate with a 200-foot carry: expect $50–$125 more in labor, because that's 40 extra minutes of walking.

Tires are the sneaky one: $12–$25 each, and most people bringing us a garage cleanout have four to eight of them stacked in a corner they've forgotten about. Same with paint — dried-out latex cans are fine, but full liquid paint and solvents we can't legally take, and that's not a price problem, it's a "call the county household hazardous waste program" problem.

Pueblo West is a metropolitan district, not a city. That matters more than it sounds. Residents who moved from Colorado Springs or the City of Pueblo often assume there's a municipal bulk-item pickup that'll take a couch off the curb twice a year. There isn't one on the same terms, and your residential trash contract almost certainly excludes mattresses, appliances with refrigerant, construction debris, and anything over a stated weight per can.

That gap is why the market for cheap hauling exists here — and why the mesa gets illegally dumped on. Every spring we get called to clear somebody else's abandoned pile off a vacant lot near Joe Martinez or out past the golf course. If a hauler quotes you $60 for a load that should cost $250, you are almost certainly paying someone to dump it on public land. Colorado treats illegal dumping as a real offense, remediation is billed to whoever's name is on the paperwork inside the pile, and cleaning up a dumped load costs 2–3× what hauling it legally would have. Ask any hauler for their disposal receipt. A legitimate one will hand it to you without blinking.

This section will cost us money and it should. Plenty of Pueblo West jobs are not worth paying anyone for.

Don't hire us if it fits in one pickup bed and you own a pickup. A single-trip self-haul to the disposal site is roughly $30–$55 in tipping fees plus maybe $8 in fuel. You'll spend 90 minutes. We'd charge you $95–$150 for the same thing. If your time is worth less than about $60/hour and your back is fine, self-haul wins outright. That's not false modesty — it's arithmetic.

Don't hire us for a whole-house renovation. If you're generating debris over 3–4 weeks, a 20-yard roll-off dumpster rented for 7–10 days will beat us on total cost, usually somewhere north of 4 full trailer loads. Don't hire us to haul away things with resale value. • Ask for the next route-fill slot instead of a specific day. Flexibility of 2–3 days is the single biggest discount available.
• Send photos before you get a quote. A phone estimate that's off by a third gets corrected on-site, and nobody enjoys that conversation.
• Ask directly about senior, veteran, and multi-neighbor rates. We do 10% for seniors and veterans, and if you get two neighbors on the same block scheduled the same morning, everyone's price drops because the trailer fills once.
