COST TO REMOVE A JACUZZI TUB

Those are the numbers. Here's what actually moves them.

Four things set the bill, and only one of them is the tub itself.

• Material. Acrylic and fiberglass jetted tubs weigh 70–110 lbs empty and cut apart with a reciprocating saw in 20–30 minutes. Cast iron jetted tubs — rare but real in 1970s–80s builds — run 300–450 lbs and need to be broken with a sledge or carried by three people. Cast iron adds $150–$300.
• Access. A ground-floor bathroom with a 32"+ doorway and a straight shot to the driveway is the cheap case. A second-floor master over a turn in the stairs adds $100–$250 in labor. Pueblo West's typical single-story ranch on a half-acre lot is genuinely favorable here — most of our jobs in the 81007 zip are ground-floor with short carries.

Most junk removal companies, including ours, will disconnect visible plumbing and pull the breaker but will not re-plumb or re-wire — that's a licensed trade.

Paying us $500 to remove one fixture while a 20-yard dumpster sits in your driveway is money burned. Ask your contractor what the demo allowance covers *before* you call anyone.

Don't hire us if you need the tub gone and the plumbing capped to code the same day. We are not licensed plumbers. We'll cut the drain and cap what's visible, but if that bathroom needs to pass inspection, or the supply lines are in-wall copper needing a soldered cap, you need a plumber ($150–$400 for a service call in Pueblo County). Hiring us first and a plumber second sometimes means paying twice for the same access.

Don't hire us for a tub you're trying to salvage. Jetted tubs almost never survive removal intact if there's a tile deck — the flange is buried under mortar and the cut destroys the rim. • A quote given without photos or a walkthrough is a guess. Send pictures of the tub, the doorway, and the surround. Any company that prices a jetted tub sight-unseen will "discover" complications on arrival.
• Volume-based pricing is wrong for this job. National franchises price by how much of the truck you fill. A jetted tub is bulky and light — it eats truck space out of proportion to its weight, which is why franchise quotes on tubs often land $150–$400 above local pricing for identical work. Ask for a flat job price.
• Minimums are real and they're fine. Most Pueblo-area operators, us included, have a $125–$175 minimum. That covers drive time to Pueblo West from town, fuel, and the dump run. A company with no minimum is either subsidizing you with another job or won't show up.
